Relapse Prevention: A Six-Hour Rapid Resolution Therapy® Training

Relapse prevention is often approached through managing triggers, resisting urges, and developing strategies to avoid returning to substance use.

But what if lasting change begins with resolving the internal processes that generate those urges in the first place?

This training is designed for professionals seeking a different approach to understanding and preventing relapse.

Rather than viewing relapse as a failure of motivation, willpower, or compliance, this training explores how internal processing can continue to generate urges, cravings, and impulses associated with substance use—even after someone believes they have changed.

Relapse becomes less likely when the internal processes driving substance-related behavior are resolved. When urges and cravings are no longer generated as signals requiring action, individuals can experience a different relationship with their thoughts, feelings, and everyday experiences.

In this six-hour live training, you will watch actual clinical sessions demonstrating how substance-use patterns are addressed through Rapid Resolution Therapy® and learn, moment by moment, what the practitioner does to facilitate change.

No reenactments.

No summaries.

No hypotheticals.

Just real people, real sessions, and observable change.

What Makes This Training Different?

This training goes beyond conventional relapse prevention strategies.

Rather than focusing primarily on managing cravings, avoiding triggers, or resisting impulses, it examines how the mind generates the internal signals associated with substance use and how changes in internal processing can support lasting resolution.

Participants will view filmed clinical demonstrations showing how shifts in internal processing influence urges, cravings, and behavioral patterns. Recordings are paused throughout to explain how specific practitioner communication and timing contribute to these changes.

The emphasis is on recognizing the processes that sustain substance-related behavior and understanding how RRT approaches their resolution.

This is a live, interactive, and immersive training designed to help professionals recognize change as it happens, rather than passively absorbing information.

What You Will Experience

  • Clear, clinically grounded teaching that keeps concepts precise, practical, and applicable

  • Stop-and-go video demonstrations of real sessions, paused at key moments to highlight what changed and why

  • Opportunities for discussion to deepen understanding through shared clinical insight

Learning Objectives

At the completion of this training, participants will be able to:

  1. Explain how internal processing contributes to substance use patterns and relapse vulnerability.

  2. Describe how urges, cravings, and impulses function as signals that can influence substance-related behavior.

  3. Identify internal conditions that may contribute to continued substance use or relapse.

  4. Recognize changes in internal processing that indicate movement toward resolution during clinical demonstrations.

  5. Distinguish practitioner communication approaches that address the processes underlying substance use from those that may inadvertently reinforce them.
