Resolving Religious Trauma
A 4-Hour Small Group Intensive
Presented by Jon Connelly, PhD, MSW, LCSW
For some, religion was experienced as comforting, grounding, and meaningful.
For others, certain messages surrounding judgment, condemnation, shame, fear, worthiness, punishment, morality, or eternal consequences may continue influencing emotional responses, identity and self-perception.
Through the lens of Rapid Resolution Therapy, the mind responds powerfully to perceived threat, exposure, judgment, and fear-based conditioning, especially when tied to authority, survival, morality, belonging, or eternal consequence.
For some people, this can cause the experience of ongoing impact on their:
Self-worth
Emotional well-being
Identity
Feelings of safety
Relationships
Anxiety and emotional reactivity
Persistent guilt, shame or fear
What Makes the RRT Perspective Unique?
Rapid Resolution Therapy focuses on how the mind organizes and responds to information emotionally, not on repeatedly revisiting painful experiences. RRT views distress as the result of the way experiences have been processed and perceived internally.
When perception changes, emotional responses can change.
Many participants describe feeling:
Calm
Clear
Less emotionally reactive
Relief from persistent fear, shame, or emotional tension
Less internal conflict
“All of the anecdotes leading up to the processes were well formed and provided perspective shifts before going into the processes which I feel made them more effective. The processes felt great! I really felt a lot releasing and shifting during them.
